[Congenital dislocation of the radius head].

چکیده
A retrospective review of 34 patients with congenital dislocation of the radial head was carried out. In 22 patients, the radial head dislocation was the only abnormality. The range of motion of the elbow and forearm was considerably limited in some patients and did cause functional impairment, especially lack of supination. Increased ulnar length in relation to the radius and a hypoplastic capitellum suggest that a dislocation is congenital. Surgical intervention is seldom necessary.

Some observations on congenital dislocation of the head of the radius.
During a study of the late results of fractures of the neck and head of the radius in children reduced by conservative or open reduction, my attention was attracted to a patient whose radiographs reminded me of the two cases of congenital dislocation of the head of the radius that I have seen. The purpose of this paper is to suggest certain conclusions that might be drawn from a comparison of t...

Congenital radial head dislocation is a rare condition which is, however, the most common of all congenital pathologies of the elbow joint. This paper is a case report on a patient presenting with moderate pain and discomfort in one of his elbow joints, both of which were found to be affected by this condition. He was treated by surgery which consisted of resection of the proximal radius and pa...
متن کاملDislocation of the head of the radius associated with fracture of the upper end of the ulna in children.
Traumatic dislocation of the head of the radius in children may be either an isolated injury or, more commonly, part of a more complex injury to the elbow, such as the Monteggia fracture-dislocation. in that injury the dislocation of the head of the radius is described as anterior or posterior and the fracture of the ulna affects its shaft (Watson-Jones 1956). Wise (1941) reported a case of lat...
متن کاملBenign fibrous histiocytoma of the distal radius with congenital dislocation of the radial head: a case report.
Benign fibrous histiocytoma is such a rare tumour that only a few cases have been reported in the literature. A patient with an apparently benign lesion of the distal radius, along with congenital dislocation of the radial head, was presented at St. John's Medical College Hospital in Bangalore, India. Pain was the chief symptom. There were histological features of non-ossifying fibroma in the l...
متن کاملBurnei’s Technique in the treatment of radial head displacement; innovative surgery. Study on two cases
INTRODUCTION Dislocation of the radial head, congenital or traumatic, anteriorly, posteriorly or laterally displaced, requires surgery to reseat and stabilize the head of the radius within the joint, in order to restore elbow flexion and, as much as possible, pronation-supination. SCOPE This article is meant to present the technique of proximal radial-ulnar ligament plasty using the extensor ...
